It’s enough to drive you batty, but this is a little more than rats with wings, maybe check out the belfry and save the thieves guild. Um! Do we really want to save the thieves guild? I guess once all the members are eaten or left, the innocent citizens are on the menu next. Point well made, so let’s head out one more time to save the day, well technically night.

Bat Demon Encounter, designed to fit into the Local Legends Tavern Kit and DND 5th Edition compatible. This unit contains a full encounter booklet, one large and three medium unpainted miniature and illustrated battle map. The unit is designed to be a flexible encounter and can be played as a standalone adventure, necessary element along the way, or a side quest in a campaign. The Games Master (GM) will need to have to assess the players levels and pitch the difficulty but reading the full encounter booklet rather than scanned over will give the depth of the scenario and characters to make it a truly Epic Encounter.

Epic Encounters Local Legends – Bat Demon Encounter at play:

Bat Demon Encounter. The game is designed as a drop in encounter for any games master role playing game, primarily for the Local legends Tavern Kit but also for a DND 5th Edition adventure, modification would be needed to any other role-playing system. The players play co-operatively unless you are a sneaky spy, to complete the scenario objective. The scenario is outlined to stop the Bat Demon from terrorising and killing the thieves’ guild members. But a band of plucky adventurers could save the day, or they might of course think that this is karma and the natural order taking care of things. The GM manages the encounter, so if it is too challenging the scenario can be adjusted e.g. the Bat Demon has to be stopped but knowing your stuff might tilt the balance and maybe some extra help to prop up your teams’ weak points if the party decide a full-frontal assault is the way to save the day but there is more than one way to skin this bat.

Booklets, Maps & Miniatures:

Bat Demon Encounter booklet contains, a detailed scenario and background of the Bat Demon and abilities and behaviour in battle or play, as well as the Bat Demon’s perspective on what it needs and what outcomes could be. The booklet provides guidance on difficulty, stats, and background from the Shady Nook. The battle map is beautifully illustrated and on decent quality paper but is only one sided and you will need to flatten it out and then rely on the Tavern Kit to provide a leading foreground map for the adventure. The Bat Demon and three giant bats’ miniatures are included and are all unpainted and unprimed but are very nicely detailed. The pieces are standard Large & three medium miniatures in size but is more generous & detailed compared to the Night Hag encounter and Owlbear encounter.

‘Sure, you advised running for our lives when you referred to a Demon last time and we don’t have Snogglob with us, as she is at the D&D 5E this week.’ Said the young Paladin.

‘D&D 5E?’ said the white Wizard quizzically.

‘Oh, it’s a dating service for chromatic dragons, Dragons & Dating, not sure on the 5E though.’ Said the young Paladin glumly.

‘Well, there are 5 chromatic dragons, and E is probably something that will stroke their rather inflated egos to match their size no doubt like Elite, well hopefully you will be off the hook with the black dragon,’ smirked the white Wizard.

‘I hope so, but Snotglob is in hero worshipping mode for some Ashardalon the 2nd.’ Said the young Paladin.

‘A red dragon, been around a while that one,’ said the white Wizard.

‘I think he’s too old for her too, but she is a smitten kitten.’ Said the young Paladin tearing up

‘I know, but when you love someone, you have to set them free, as how are they ever to learn to soar and reach their full potential if you shackle and cage them,’ said the white Wizard placing an arm around the young Paladin as the tears cascaded down his cheek.

Epic encounters have been written to be challenging and it is the duty of the GM to balance the adventure with the player ability and bringing in extra help to tip the balance is allowed as you are in charge right, but balancing is always the best way and letting in extra help or allow aid to come if needed for either your team or the Bat Demon.
