Transformers fans will soon be able to lead the Autobots into battle in Transformers Resistance, a new cooperative dungeon crawler that puts the fate of Cybertron in players’ hands! Announced by publisher OC-Games, the tactical board game takes place during the final stages of the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Designed for 1–4 players, it promises challenging missions, strategic combat and a campaign in which players must work together to overcome overwhelming enemy forces.
Lead the Autobots into battle
In Transformers Resistance, players will take control of iconic Autobots as they fight back against the Decepticons. The game features an automated AI system to control enemy forces, meaning you can tackle its missions solo or team up with friends without needing someone to play the villains. Combat revolves around tactical positioning, using cover to outmanoeuvre enemies and launching powerful attacks with special dice. Players can also equip their characters with useful tools and abilities to improve their chances of surviving each encounter. Each character has a distinct playstyle, with asymmetrical heroes and enemies bringing their own special skills to the battlefield. Energon also plays an important role, powering upgrades that could make the difference between victory and defeat.
Build your own battlefields
The game will feature highly detailed miniatures representing familiar faces from the Transformers universe, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron. Battles take place across a modular hex-based map, allowing players to assemble different battlefields and create a wide variety of layouts. This should give missions plenty of room to feel different, encouraging players to adapt their tactics rather than rely on the same strategy every time. Beyond individual encounters, Transformers Resistance will include a story-driven campaign. Characters can grow stronger as the adventure progresses, while player decisions carry consequences throughout the journey. With each mission bringing the Autobots closer to determining Cybertron's fate, the campaign aims to offer more than a series of disconnected battles. Players will need to work together, develop their characters and make smart decisions if they hope to turn the tide of the war.
When is Transformers Resistance coming out?
A page for Transformers Resistance is already available on Gamefound, the crowdfunding platform where the project is expected to launch. However, there's currently no confirmed crowdfunding launch date or price. The game's final release date and other details have yet to be announced, too. Each game is expected to last around 90–120 minutes, making this one to watch for Transformers fans who enjoy longer, tactical tabletop adventures. For now, we'll have to wait for OC-Games to reveal more about the project.
