One-man founded studio Board Collie games has officially launched a new survival strategy game on Kickstarter: Survive Nuclear Apocalypse!
About the Game
Survive Nuclear Apocalypse is all about strategy – not everyone can survive the fallout, and every choice you make will determine your fate! The setting takes the form of a ruined city, scarce of resources and life – players must decide whether to form alliances or face betrayals as they fight or survival alone.
Designed for 2-4 players, Survive Nuclear Apocalypse consists of 160 cards (of which include Event, Strategy, Item, Supply, and Radiation cards), and three dice – Standard, Lucky and Exhausted. Every round, players roll to complete missions, gather and trade resources, or form alliances with other players to increase chances of survival. The risk is never far away though, so don’t get too comfortable – those players who run out of food and water are left with the Exhausted Die as a last resort. If a player gets five Radiation cards, they are immediately eliminated – anything can happen, and no one is safe…
The game is designed to take only 30 minutes, with an instruction sheet that is a page long, meaning players can pick up the rules quickly and get straight into playing! Although the games are fast-paced, the unpredictability of resources, betrayal, and luck heighten the tension and keep players on the edge of their seats. Two player games allow for more manipulation and mind-games between you and your opponent, whereas four-player games increase complexity and opportunities for how the game will play out.
Though the campaign for Survive Nuclear Apocalypse is new, it’s already received a fare few backers and is hoping to reach gamers globally through Kickstarter!
If you’re a fan of survival and strategy games such as Don’t Starve, this game definitely promises to be fun, tense, and competitive until the last man standing!
