New RPG game Elestrals Awakened is breaking records on Kickstarter, combining styles familiar to classic Pokémon games and the fun adventure of Link’s Awakening!
Elestrals Awakened is setting records as the most-funded indie game of 2025, with over 10,000 backers who have raised over $1,000,000 on Kickstarter! The RPG adopts a pixel art, 2.5D animation style, with visuals that harmonise with that of old-school Pokémon games such as Red and Blue.
In addition to this new RPG, there have been two previous Elestrals campaigns: the Elestrals Trading Card Game launched in November 2022, which raised over $1.4 million and and effectively launching the franchise. Elestrals Clash was then released as a campaign for a free-to-play digital version of the TCG.
About Elestrals Awakened
The Elestrals universe is expanding with this single-player action-adventure video game. Elestrals Awakened brings the deep lore and rich world of Elestrals into an interactive adventure! Play as a Caster, and forge a bond with a Spirit companion to explore the elemental world and mysterious lands beyond! A disclaimer made on the Kickstarter campaign is that no AI was used in any of the art of creative assets! This means original concepts and fun designs that reflect the passion and hard-work gone into this game!
The game shares similarities with Pokémon due to its monster catching theme and strategic battle system. Players explore a rich world, uncovering the secrets of a long war whilst forming bonds with over 100 unique creatures known as Elestrals!
The massive support from funding has allowed additional content to be released including many more Elestrals and an extended post-game with a “Divine Re-challenge.” Another mechanic called “Stellar Hunting” focuses on catching Stellar variants of the Elestrals – rare, luminous versions of the creatures – very similar to the shiny hunting element in the Pokémon series!
