Hasbro & Disney partner on new Play-Doh collection

Hasbro and Disney are joining forces again, this time bringing Disney characters into the world of Play-Doh. It’s a simple idea: take one of the most recognisable kids’ craft brands and mix in Mickey Mouse and friends. The result? New sets designed to spark creativity while keeping little ones entertained (and hopefully not grinding Play-Doh into the carpet).

What’s Landing First

The partnership kicks off with a Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse collection aimed at pre-schoolers. The first wave includes:

  • Happy Stackable Set
  • Shape A Story Playset
  • Stamp & Go Megapack

Nothing too complicated here: the sets are built around hands-on play, storytelling, and a bit of mess in the name of creativity.

Why Hasbro and Disney Are Doing This

Both companies talk about this as more than just a product drop. Hasbro’s Tim Kilpin describes it as a way to “unlock limitless possibilities for storytelling and expression.” Disney’s Paul Gitter highlights bringing their characters into “a beloved childhood tradition in fresh ways.”

In plain English: Play-Doh has always been about imagination, and Disney has plenty of characters to feed that. Together, they’re hoping to give kids more opportunities to create their own stories instead of just watching them on screen.

More Than Preschool Sets?

Right now the focus is firmly on the younger crowd, but there’s a hint of more to come. The companies haven’t ruled out expanding into other Disney properties or even products for older fans. Think beyond Mickey: superheroes, Star Wars, maybe even Pixar down the line.

And it fits with Hasbro’s recent approach. Back in July, the company signed a deal with Galaxy Gaming to bring brands like Monopoly and Yahtzee into casino settings. Different audience, same idea: take familiar brands and find new ways to use them.

The Takeaway

This isn’t a huge shake-up in the toy industry, but it’s a logical step for both brands. Play-Doh gets a fresh twist, Disney finds another way to keep its characters in front of kids, and parents get a few new options for rainy-day activities.

The first Disney Jr. Play-Doh sets are out now if you want an early look. Wider availability follows in 2026, and after that, we’ll see whether Hasbro and Disney decide to bring more of the Disney catalogue into the mix.

For now, it’s a neat crossover: two big names, one classic product, and plenty of room to grow.
