Grammes Edition is returning to its compact card game line with two new entries: Micro Hero: Achilles and Micro Hero: Ulysses, now live on Kickstarter.
Small Box, Big Mythology
The Micro Hero series began with Micro Hero: Hercules, a solo-focused card game that challenged players to tackle the hero’s legendary labours through a clever mix of deck-building and puzzle-like decision-making. Its light-hearted, humorous art style offered a playful twist on classic mythology, helping it stand out despite its small footprint.
The new entries continue that approach, but each introduces distinct mechanics inspired by their respective heroes. This means Achilles and Ulysses won’t simply re-skin the original formula, but instead aim to offer fresh gameplay experiences within the same compact format.
A Flexible Backing Model
One of the more unusual aspects of Grammes Edition’s campaigns is its “pay what you want” structure. Backers can technically support the project for as little as €1, though suggested pledge levels are available. The games are expected to retail at around €12, making them an accessible option for players looking for portable solo experiences.
A Growing Micro Series
With Hercules already delivered following its successful 2025 campaign, the Micro Hero line is steadily building a reputation for delivering bite-sized yet challenging gameplay. While previous feedback has noted some quirks - particularly around card handling and component feel - the core design has proven engaging for players seeking a quick but thoughtful solo challenge.
With two new mythological heroes joining the line-up, Micro Hero: Achilles and Micro Hero: Ulysses continue to explore how much game design can be packed into a truly pocket-sized experience.
