June is shaping up to be a month filled with Pixar wonders for all Disney Lorcana fans. Pixar came for the very first time to Disney Lorcana with the release of set 12, the Wilds Unknown, in May and the timing couldn't be more perfect considering the new Toy Story 5 movie will be on Cinemas on June 20th. However, as Toy Story is also the main franchise featured in Wilds Unknown, the team at Ravensburger couldn't miss the chance to work with Disney to create a magical celebration opportunity stretching from London to Birmingham with a larger support across all UK. Disney Lorcana is not new to celebrate the release of Disney Movies. In the past, Players and Collectors alike were able to get promo cards in the cinemas that were showing Moana 2 and Zootropia 2 movies. However, for the latest instalment of the Toy Story universe, fans will get more opportunities to enjoy the game and to discover Disney Lorcana and the Wilds Unknown set as they prepare to celebrate the return of Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang on the big screen.
Pixar Takes Over Westfield London The first stop of our journey is in the Westfield shopping centre in London that recently transformed into a Pixar-themed playground. This “Pixar Experience” includes multiple interactive stands where you can experience iconic moments of the movie from Lilypad’s high-speed challenge to Woody and Buzz’s legendary photo op, dance battles in the Smarty Pants Dance Hall, and lassoing your memory onto Jessie's Tree. There is even a claw machine where you can be the prize everyone’s trying to win!
To add to the experience, the visitors will be able to collect physical tokens by going through the experience and if they manage to get all five, they can collect an exclusive Toy Story 5 Experience gift at the bar at the centre of the Pixar Experience.
Of course, Disney Lorcana is right at the heart of this event. Imagine going through all Pixar themed installations just to bump into the Lorcana stand featuring giant cards of your favourite Characters from Toy Story. Even better, you can discover Disney Lorcana, chat with the Ravensburger team and, most important, try your luck with a Wheel in order to win Wilds Unknown packs and the Woody promo card.
I was super happy last week as Ravensburger invited me and other content creators to experience the excitement right on the first day. It goes without saying that I tried all the different installation (the dance one will always be my favourite), took tons of pictures, had a very refreshing stop at the bar,.... and obviously failed to win at the Spinning Wheel... I am sure fans visiting the centre will have better luck than me but even without the prize, visiting the experience is absolutely a great fun for both Lorcana and non Lorcana fans.
Toy Story 5 release events and Birmingham Disney Lorcana Hunt While London gets the excitement of a Pixar showcase from the 10th to the 20th of June, Disney Lorcana Illumineers will be able to celebrate the release of the new movie across all UK. While Toy Story 5 hits the cinema, Illumineers can head to any HMV in UK in order to get a fantastic new Promo card of “Buzz Lightyear, Space Ranger” by spending £15. This promo is not only foil but it also showcases the Max Grecke's alternative artwork of the green two-cost creature illustrated by Juan Diego Leon.
Anyone leaving around Birmingham will also be able to enjoy something even more thrilling as the HMV Vault store in Birmingham (B4 7LN) will host a Collection Quest on the 20th of June. E-Tickets for any of the four 1-hour slots are already available via the HMV Tickets app and will allow the holders to secure both a copy of the promo card and two sealed booster packs of the Wilds Unknown for just £10. The Collection Quest will mirror those you can experience at Disney Locations around the globe providing an opportunity for everyone to live the same magical adventure without moving too much from their homes. For Lorcana fans, this will be a great extension of the core themes of the Wilds Unknown set: exploration, discovery, and the thrill of the unexpected.
I have no idea which amazing activities and puzzles Illumineers will need to face but I am very excited to find out! The best part of it would be celebrate these events with your friends and family and to have fun right before of after going to enjoy Toy Story 5. What an amazing June for Disney Lorcana!
