Originally released in 2007, Container earned legendary status among economic game fans. Critics adored it, players swore by it, but for the last decade it’s been practically impossible to find. Unless, of course, you had very deep pockets and an even deeper love of tiny plastic shipping crates.
Well, good news: Container is finally getting a brand-new print, thanks to AllPlay.
A Market Worth Shipping Into
Container is often described as one of the greatest economic games of all time. Each decision you make changes the entire market. Build factories, produce goods, set your prices, negotiate with rivals, and then sail your cargo across the sea to trade.
It sounds simple-buy low, sell high-but it’s a game where human chaos always sneaks in. One bad bid, one grumpy neighbour, or one “oh no, I needed that loan” moment and the whole plan collapses. It’s brutal. It’s brilliant. And it’s finally coming back.
What’s New in AllPlay’s Edition?
First off: the price. No more “I could buy this game, or I could pay rent this month” dilemmas. The new edition is launching through crowdfunding at a much more accessible level (starting at $39).
AllPlay has also promised a definitive experience: modern production, sharper artwork, more readable graphic design, and – importantly – boats that are less jumbo than the 2018 edition.
Expansion content will also be included, with a mix of tweaks to old material and some brand-new extras. Basically, it’s Container polished up and ready for 2025 players.

Allplay is planning a crowdfunding campaign for late September 2025. Alongside Container, they’re also releasing GRUNTZ and Triangulation, with special bundle pricing for anyone who wants to back all three.
