Hola! I’m Coty, and my board gaming journey started with childhood games of Rummikub before leveling up to a first date playing Taboo with my now-wife over a decade ago. Since then, board games have become a huge part of my life
These days I’m a reviewer, blogger, collector, and unapologetic board game data nerd. I track every play, maintain a carefully curated collection with a strict shelf limit, and have logged thousands of unique plays over the years. My favorite experiences tend to be small-box games that deliver big decisions, especially ones that shine at two players or play under one hour
I enjoy a wide range of genres, but you'll most often find me reaching for roll-and-writes, anything with dice, trick-taking games, card games, spatial puzzles, tile-laying games, and interactive Euros. Bluffing and social deduction games? I admire them from afar, but they're definitely not my strong suit
One of my favorite things about the hobby is sharing it with others, which is why I create content and write reviews in both English and Spanish. I also torture my friends with weekly game nights and love introducing people to new games. As for claims to fame, I've been logging over 1,000 in person plays since 2020, there’s not a week that goes by where we don’t either play Dominion or Jump Drive. I don’t like downtime, so I frequently convince my friends to play a simultaneous four-player game of the entire Clever series. It’s as chaotic as it sounds
When I’m not gaming, I’m usually hunting for secondhand gems at Millennium Games, 3D-printing board game accessories, putting together jigsaw puzzles, adding LEGO sets and plants to my game room, or sneaking a travel game onto anything. I’ve even brought board games to a funeral (though we did not get to play any). When I step away from the table entirely, you can usually find me on the ice playing hockey or winding down with a good book
You can find my reviews, blog posts, videos, and board game ramblings across the web, where I focus on honest impressions, practical recommendations, and helping people find games they’ll enjoy:
