Naruto Shippuden Battle Board Game launches crowdfunding campaign!

Naruto fans have a new tabletop battle to keep an eye on! A brand-new Naruto Shippuden Battle board game has launched on Gamefound, giving players the chance to build teams of iconic characters and fight for control of the battlefield. The officially licensed game comes from board game studio This Is a GAME and publisher Don’t Panic Games. It supports 2-4 players, with each player assembling a team of three characters before battling to claim objectives and collect victory points.

Build your ninja team

Rather than simply throwing every character into one huge fight, Naruto Shippuden Battle focuses on creating a small team and using it effectively. Players will need to choose three characters, work around their abilities, and compete for important objectives across the battlefield. That means positioning, team selection, and knowing when to make a move could all be crucial to victory! The game is designed around the Naruto Shippuden universe, so fans can expect plenty of familiar faces and plenty of opportunities to recreate the feeling of a ninja showdown on the tabletop.

Crowdfunding already hits its goal

The campaign launched on September 16 and is set to run until October 9. The original funding target was €35,000, which is roughly $40,300. However, the project has already smashed through that goal. At the time of reporting, it had raised more than €146,000, or approximately $168,000. That puts the campaign well above its initial target, suggesting there is plenty of interest in a Naruto-themed battle game. Backers will receive a Naruto Sage Mode miniature with all pledge levels. Higher-tier rewards will also include additional battlefields, miniatures, acrylic tokens, and other extras. The exact contents of each pledge will depend on the tier selected, so fans interested in supporting the project will want to check the campaign page before committing.

More Naruto games are coming

Naruto Shippuden Battle isn’t the only tabletop project based on the anime currently in the works. Bandai previously announced a new Naruto Card Game, a trading card game based on the franchise that is scheduled to launch worldwide in 2027. That means Naruto fans could soon have another way to collect characters, build decks, and battle their friends. Don’t Panic Games also has some tabletop experience behind it, having previously released Cowboy Bebop: The Role-Playing Game in 2022. For now, Naruto Shippuden Battle is the project to watch. With its focus on three-character teams, objective-based gameplay, and a growing collection of miniatures, it could offer Naruto fans a new way to settle their rivalries without destroying an entire village!
