Holo can you go?
As with every new trading card set, there’s heaps of collectable goodness included in the Hololive Production Summer Collection. But what can you expect to find in a pack?
Each pack contains four cards in total, which is one card more than you’d normally find in premium packs. This includes:
● 3 x non-foil cards
● 1 x foil card
In total there are 53 characters for you to find in this set, each of which has a normal and hololive parallel version. But that’s not all…
To make things even more exciting, the foil slot of each pack has the chance of being an exclusive hot stamped SP character card. But I’ll talk more about this later in the review.
On top of the collectability, this set also includes new powerful cards to add to your Hololive decks, making previously less competitive decks more viable in the ever growing meta. But just remember that the usual deck building restrictions apply, and the cards in this set can only be used with other cards that have numbers starting with HOL.
Premium points
As expected, this premium set of Hololive contains a wide variety of the most popular Vtubers out there, including a lot of fan favourites. You’ll also be glad to know that the following hololive generations are included in the Hololive Production Summer Collection:

With so many talents included in this set, there’s plenty to collect. But, if you’re a completionist, make sure you keep an eye out for each of the ‘Hot-stamped’ cards that are included in this set. Each pack has a chance of containing one of these stunning colourful full art cards, and given that there’s fan favourites, some are really sought after.
Final thoughts
As amazing as this set is, it definitely feels like more of a collectors set, rather than one that’s focused on adding to the gameplay. The set is almost entirely designed around showcasing well known Vtubers in seasonally themed outfits, and can be really exciting for those that know the characters. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with any of the Hololive characters, so the appeal of this set definitely felt a bit lost on me.
Admittedly, I also have to say that 4 cards for nearly double the price of a normal booster can seem quite steep. Especially as they don’t fit into the decks I play. However, the full art SP cards included in this set are absolutely stunning, and definitely warrant opening a booster or four to try my luck at pulling one.
Criticism aside, this is a really bright, colourful summer themed deck and it’s great fun to open. Just keep in mind that these packs are popular and selling out quickly; so get hold of a few whilst you can!
