Basic Gameplay
Blind Spot is a word game like no other I have played, you need to be able to think multiple steps ahead. You need to ensure you don’t block off an area that you want to use, or leave an open word for your opponent to mess up your zone. It is super hard.
If you are a Wordle or Scrabble addict or a Susie Dent wannabe, then Blind Spot is going to really stretch that grey matter for you. During this game you will be trying to spot words, in a sort of wordsearch style grid. But not only that, each word that you pick, you’ll cover over a letter in the middle of the word. This will now mean that only you can use that space in your word. It will be like a sort of area control part of the game too. Keeping people penned in. It should, if you’ve planned well, also get you some extra word options too.
Components
There isn't a huge amount to this, some little tiles and a set of spot tiles for each player. Simple, yet graphically clear and easy to use. It does what you need, no frills.
Replayability
There are lots of different tile options to make up the board for each game, you won’t use every tile available each time, so the variability is really high. I think if you are into word games then this one has a lot of mileage, owing mostly to its high level of difficulty.
Round Up
If you are a boss at scrabble or wordle and think you want to dial the difficulty up to eleven, then please give Blind Spot a go. This is a game that has you flicking your eyes between the board and the timer as your heart rate rises. And you still cannot think of a single word aside from your basic three letter words let alone spot it!
