The hit video game franchise Plants vs. Zombies is about to swarm the tabletop!
The nostalgia is real with this one - from playing on your PC to mobile phone, Plants vs. Zombies was a hit game that so many of us spent hours playing.
The tower defense game first hit screens in 2009, first released for PC and MAC by PopCap Games. Due to it's huge success, the game was them quickly released on iOS and later to Android, and it's popularity only grew.
The game follows friends of David "Crazy Dave" Blazing as they use his plants to defend against a zombie invasion.
The Board Game
The tabletop game will launch on Kickstarter in Q4 of 2026. You can sign up for updates on the game via this page. The board game will challenge players to defend their home from waves of zombies by building lines of defensive plants.
The plants will include the classic Peashooters, Cherry Bombs, Wall-nuts, and more!
The level of the game will increase in difficulty to match the number of players.
The game will be published by Mantic Games, who are no stranger to a video game adaptation, including titles inspired by Halo, The Walking Dead, and others. It's safe to say everyone's childhood zombie game is in good hands!
