Ravensburger has relaunched Mind The Lines, a cooperative drawing party game where players have to work together, follow some very specific rules, and somehow turn a collection of pre-drawn lines into recognisable pictures. Originally released in Germany in 2024 as Krakel Orakel by Die 7 Bazis, the game is now getting a wider release under the Ravensburger name. It also marks the company's first drawing game, bringing a fresh twist to the classic party-game formula.
Draw within the lines!
The rules are simple, but the results could get wonderfully chaotic!
At the beginning of each round, every player receives a prompt card. You then have just two minutes to draw the secret word on your dry-erase board. There's one catch: you can't draw whatever you want. Instead, you have to trace the lines already printed on your board to create your picture. That means players have to get creative with the shapes and paths they're given, even when those lines seem determined to ruin your masterpiece! Once the timer runs out, everyone's drawings are revealed. The prompt cards are then mixed with an equal number of unused cards and placed face up on the table.

Now comes the teamwork!
Players work together to figure out which prompt belongs to each drawing. The team gradually eliminates the answers they think don't match the pictures, but there's a risk involved. Eliminate the wrong card, and you'll pick up a penalty point. That means communication is key. One player's terrible drawing could be another player's moment of artistic genius, so the group needs to agree before making those crucial decisions! The game continues over four rounds, with the team's final penalty total deciding whether they have managed to win.

Mind The Lines comes with two difficulty levels, giving groups a choice between a more relaxed game and something a little trickier. On Easy mode, the team needs to finish with no more penalty points than the number of players. Difficult mode gives you a little more breathing room, allowing up to twice the number of players in penalty points. It's a clever way of making the game accessible for families while still giving experienced players something to get stuck into.

The real appeal of Mind The Lines is that you don't need to be a brilliant artist to enjoy it. In fact, being absolutely terrible at drawing might make the game even funnier! With quick rounds, simple rules, and plenty of opportunities for players to argue over whether that mysterious collection of lines is actually a cat, a spaceship, or something completely different, Mind The Lines looks ready to bring a fresh dose of chaos to family and adult game nights.
