Board game night is getting a little more portable! Fizz Creations has teamed up with Hasbro to turn some of its biggest tabletop names into compact digital handheld games. The new collection is set to launch in early 2027, giving fans a new way to enjoy classic games without needing a dining table, a pile of components, or someone inevitably losing the dice. And yes, Monopoly is involved!
Classic games, new format
The first wave will feature six familiar Hasbro favourites: Monopoly, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Operation, Battleship and Connect 4. Scrabble will be available in the US only, while the other titles are part of the wider collection. Rather than simply putting these games onto a phone, Fizz Creations is giving each one its own dedicated handheld format. The devices feature LCD screens, physical button controls and original gameplay, with a keyring design making them easy to carry around. So, whether you fancy rolling some Yahtzee dice on the bus or want to squeeze in a quick game of Connect 4 while you're out and about, these tiny gadgets are built for gaming on the move!
Tiny games, big nostalgia
There is a pretty obvious nostalgia factor here. Hasbro's games have been part of family game nights for generations, and this collection is clearly aimed at players who remember them from childhood as well as younger gamers discovering them for the first time. Fizz Creations already has experience with portable entertainment, including its Keyring Arcade and Colour Handheld ranges. The Hasbro partnership takes that idea and combines it with some seriously recognisable board game brands. It also gives collectors another reason to start hunting. With multiple games getting their own handhelds, these could end up being just as much collectible gadgets as gaming devices.
More games are coming!
The six announced titles are only the beginning. Fizz Creations has confirmed that more Hasbro games will be revealed ahead of the collection's launch, so there could be plenty more pocket-sized classics on the way. Fans and retailers will get an early look at the range at LA Preview 2026, where Fizz Creations will showcase the collection from September 14 to 23. The range is then expected to hit retail in early 2027.
Board games might traditionally live in big boxes, but this latest collection proves they can shrink down quite nicely. Just don't expect anyone to be shouting "MONOPOLY!" across the living room when you're playing it on a keyring!
