Heroes vs Zombies!
The DC Universe is about to get a whole lot more dangerous! DCeased - A Zombicide Game is heading to retail on September 11, 2026, bringing its blend of superheroes, zombies and cooperative survival to a much wider audience. Originally crowdfunded by CMON in November 2023, the game smashed through its $300,000 Kickstarter goal, eventually raising more than $2.5 million from over 12,000 backers. It is now making its way into retail following Asmodee's acquisition of the Zombicide IP.
Based on the popular DCeased comic series, the game puts players in control of DC heroes attempting to survive an outbreak of the Anti-Life Virus. This isn't quite your standard zombie apocalypse either. The virus turns its victims into violent, relentless killers, leaving the surviving heroes with a very unpleasant job to do!
Team up!
DCeased is a cooperative game for one to six players, with everyone working together to complete missions and take down hordes of infected enemies. Players will need to complete objectives, rescue bystanders and defeat enemies while making the most of their heroes' unique abilities. There's a familiar Zombicide twist too. Defeating enemies earns experience, allowing heroes to become more powerful, but increasing your power also means the game throws tougher threats your way!
That means you can't simply smash everything in sight and expect an easy ride. You'll need to work together, manage your resources and decide when it's worth taking a risk.
A box full of DC
There is plenty packed into the box, with 85 miniatures representing heroes, infected characters and enemies. You'll also get nine double-sided game tiles, 122 mini cards, six plastic dashboards, six dice, tracker cubes, tokens, ID cards and the rulebook. The game is designed for players aged 14 and over and takes around 60 minutes to play, making it a sizeable cooperative adventure without requiring an entire evening to get through.
And if the core game leaves you wanting even more Anti-Life chaos, the wider DCeased range has already expanded with content including Gotham Knights and Arkham Asylum, bringing even more characters and locations into the fight.
