New Pixel-Art RPG Heads to Kickstarter
Fans of classic action RPGs may want to keep an eye on this one! Colossus: Eternal Blight has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign following its recent reveal during Indie Quest 2026.
Developed by Rustic Panda Games and published by Level Up Gaming, the upcoming adventure combines fast-paced combat, pixel-art visuals and player-driven choices in a fantasy world on the brink of collapse.
A Kingdom in Crisis
In Colossus: Eternal Blight, players step into the role of Lucian, a young hero searching for his brother Lance as a mysterious corruption known as the Blight spreads across the kingdom of Eireos.
The journey takes players through a handcrafted world filled with dangerous enemies, troubled settlements and difficult decisions. Along the way, you'll encounter citizens struggling to survive the growing threat, with choices that can influence how events unfold.
Inspired by Genre Greats
The game's visual style and world design draw inspiration from beloved titles such as Chrono Trigger and Hyper Light Drifter, blending retro-inspired pixel art with modern action-focused gameplay.
A newly released gameplay trailer showcased several areas of the game world, offering a closer look at exploration, story moments and enemy encounters.
Fast-Paced Combat
Combat appears to be a major focus, with players relying on quick reactions and precise timing to survive.
Dodges, parries and combo attacks all play a key role, rewarding players who can master enemy attack patterns and stay mobile during battles. The result looks set to be a more skill-based experience than many traditional RPGs.
With its Kickstarter campaign now live, Colossus: Eternal Blight is aiming to turn its striking debut into a fully realised adventure. For fans of retro-inspired action RPGs, this could be one worth watching.
