My name is Adam, and I’m the founder of Charity Wargaming Circuit, a foundation which aims to raise money for Birmingham Hospice. Birmingham Hospice provides support for those who are in palliative care, giving them the dignity, respect and care they deserve - not just for the service users, but for their families.
What CWC Does
In 2022, my dad passed away under the care of The Birmingham Hospice. We intend to run tournaments across the year, with a raffle at the end of each tournament where additional funds can be raised. After table hire has been paid for, I will be sending the remaining money directly to Birmingham Hospice.
Birmingham Hospice requires £8M a year to stay open, and through CWC, we can bring the community together:
- £22 - pays for a teddy bear with the recording of a loved one’s voice for children
- £43 - pays for a Living Well Centre services which help patients socialise and look after their wellbeing.
- £59 - Could pay for a bereavement support session to help families through the journey of grief.
- £93 - Could pay for a nurse to visit a patient in their home so they can be cared for in the place of their choice.
Even in its basic form, these donations help keep the lights on another day, and help pay for staff members to stay on so care isn’t compromised. I have made a website and a just giving page, as well as a discord server where we plan on informing everyone of upcoming events. We also recently set up a facebook page to attract a wider audience.
We have our first event on the 28th July, designed to raise awareness around the existence of the Birmingham Hospice, and then the first of many tournaments will start on the 26th September with A Song of Ice & Fire, followed by Bolt Action on the 7th November. All of our events also include a best painted prize, as well as spot prizes to help ensure that as many people as possible will go home with something.

All of our events will be run at Battleground Gaming UK in Birmingham UK. Tickets are prices at £26, which includes a donation to The Birmingham Hospice.
