Noodle Flip review

Are you ready for a flippin’ good time?

Noodle Flip is the action game for lazy people.

All you need to do is flip the noodle into the bucket. Designed to be played standing up, sitting or lying down, this versatile game is designed to be fun for all, wherever and however you want to play.

But does this game hit the target? Or is it a bad miss?

How to play

The game is incredibly simple to pick up. The large plastic rings are slotted into one another to make a bucket shape called the target, with feet underneath that are attached to the bottom ring. Players then take it in turns to throw the noodle (a weighty orange rod with a foam end) into the bucket. If the player gets it in, and the next person misses, they win the top ring of the bucket. This is then removed and play continues with the smaller target. The pattern continues until all rings have been won.

The scores for each ring vary depending on their ease: the first ring removed is worth 1, and the last 5.

At the end of the game, players compare points and the player with the most points (not the most rings) wins!

Making your shot

This game does exactly what it says on the tin. It is a game that can be played anywhere by all ages and, if you place yourselves accordingly, no one has to go too far to fetch the sticks when thrown.

Putting together the target can be a little tricky; there’s definitely a knack to it. However, this is something that should become easier over time.

In terms of laziness, I’d say it’s probably the same as many other lawn games, maybe less walking after pieces than something like Koob or bowls, but you still do have to go collect the pieces (unless you sit in that perfect circle). The instructions like to focus on getting comfortable to not move after you’ve made the target, but someone will need to get the noodles back, particularly when there are only two in the box.

This game can be played indoors or outdoors, meaning it’s great all year round. However, if laziness is what you’re after, be aware that the noodles bounce on hard floors!

This game’s joy though comes from the interaction with other players and its replayability. This is a simple game, but it encourages a great social vibe, making it the perfect game for a get together. And, if you’ve played once, playing again takes only a few minutes. I can imagine this being really popular in family and friend groups and becoming a go-to game for gatherings.

Bullseye

This game is a simple hit. Is it particularly complicated? No, but that’s the beauty of it. This game could easily become a favourite at family barbecues, get togethers or even weddings as something for guests to pick up and play.

It’s pretty flippin’ good!
