Hasbro is bringing the colourful world of Dr. Seuss to the tabletop with six new games arriving ahead of the holiday season. The collection reimagines familiar family favourites with characters and settings from some of the author's best-known books, including How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and The Cat in the Hat. The lineup includes updated versions of Operation, Monopoly Deal, Candy Land, Trouble, The Game of Life and Chutes and Ladders, offering a mix of quick card games, classic board game challenges and adventures designed for younger players.
Operation: The Grinch Edition
The Grinch takes centre stage in Operation: The Grinch Edition, which adds festive flair and funny sound effects to the familiar dexterity game. Players attempt to remove the Grinch's various maladies while keeping their hands steady. In Hospital mode, players draw Bandage cards and try to remove ailments without setting off the buzzer. If the Grinch's nose lights up, their turn ends. The player who successfully removes the most ailments wins. For a faster challenge, Emergency mode gives players just 60 seconds to remove as many ailments as possible. The two modes offer different ways to test players' steady hands, with the Grinch providing plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong.
Monopoly Deal: How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Edition
The festive theme continues with Monopoly Deal: How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Edition, a quick-playing card game based on the classic Dr. Seuss story. Players collect items from Who-ville, using action cards to steal from opponents and pull off Grinch-inspired tricks. Christmas Cheer cards serve as payment, while the goal is to become the first player to collect three different complete item sets. Designed for both children and adults, the game takes around 15 minutes to play, making it a convenient option for a quick family game during the busy holiday period.
Candy Land: The World of Dr. Seuss Edition
Candy Land: The World of Dr. Seuss Edition brings the author's colourful characters and imaginative settings to the classic children's board game. Players choose their favourite Dr. Seuss character before travelling along the Rainbow Path, drawing cards to determine their movement. Special Seuss-themed features add a new layer to the familiar journey, with the first player to reach home declared the winner. There is also a cooperative alternative, in which players team up to race against the Cat in the Hat. This gives families another way to enjoy the game, whether competing against one another or working together.
Trouble: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
The classic Dr. Seuss book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish inspires a new version of Trouble. Players select their colourful three-dimensional fish pegs before using the game's familiar Pop-O-Matic bubble to roll the die. The objective is to move all four of their fish around the board from Home to the Finish zone. Special spaces can change a player's progress, allowing them to move forward, send opponents backwards or even sing like a Ying. The result combines the straightforward racing mechanics of Trouble with a series of playful Dr. Seuss-inspired twists.
The Game of Life: Oh, The Places You'll Go! Edition
Inspired by Oh, the Places You'll Go!, this version of The Game of Life takes players on a Seussian adventure filled with different paths and experiences. Rather than collecting money, players gather Moment tokens and exchange them for Life Experience flags. Along the way, they can recruit Companions, complete Challenges with other players and Move Mountains as they work towards victory. The board features locations including Wide Open Air, High Heights and The Waiting Place, encouraging players to explore different routes through their adventure. The game puts a Dr. Seuss spin on the familiar life-simulation formula, with an emphasis on experiences rather than financial success.
Chutes and Ladders: The Cat in the Hat Edition
Rounding out the collection is Chutes and Ladders: The Cat in the Hat Edition, which brings the mischievous Cat, Thing 1, Thing 2 and the Fish to another children's board game classic. Each player chooses a cardboard character pawn before taking turns spinning the spinner and moving around the board. Landing on a ladder lets players climb ahead, while landing on a chute sends them sliding backwards. The aim is to reach space 100 first, with every move offering the chance to make progress or lose ground. Its simple rules and familiar characters make it an accessible option for younger players. With six games spanning dexterity challenges, card collecting, racing and imaginative adventures, Hasbro's new Dr. Seuss collection gives families plenty of ways to bring these beloved stories to game night. The releases are planned for the 2026 holiday season, with availability through Hasbro and selected retailers.
