Some people may argue that Zombie themed anything is out, from movies, TV shows, to board and video games. The “undead eating everyone and the world ending” story has been told a few too many times. However, I will always have space on my shelf for this classic – Zombie Dice – and I think you should add it to your collection too.
Brains anyone?
In Zombie Dice, you play as a zombie roaming the streets looking for tasty brains to eat and trying to avoid those pesky humans attempting to kill you with gunshot wounds. The game comes with 13 dice that represent a human victim, and on your turn, you randomly select 3 dice from the cup and roll them. The results are as follows:
- If you roll a brain, you successfully caught and ate the human (yum). Set these dice aside, you’re trying to collect as many as possible.
- If you roll a shotgun, your human is an annoying one and has chosen to fight back! Also set these dice aside, three shot wounds and you’re dead!
- If you roll footprints, your human is a runner or a track star and has managed to escape you. If you choose to roll again, you will re-roll footprints, along with enough new dice to bring the total dice to three.
Should I risk it for a biscuit (or brain)?

This game is a gamble and you continue to roll the dice, three at a time, as many times as the dice allow. Will you be lucky and roll lots of brains and be a human eating machine? Or will you get three shotgun wounds, lose your turn and therefore lose all the brains you’ve collected on your roll?
You can choose to stop rolling at any time. For example, if you have six brains in your stash, but two gunshot wounds, it might be wise to stop rolling and cache those brains. Remember, if you get three wounds, you’re dead and could lose those brains. Or you could be a complete dare devil, and continue rolling (there’s always a chance of getting just one more brain right?!).
Bare in mind the colour of the dice too, the red ones are the toughest with less chances of getting a brain result, whereas the green ones are easier, and yellow medium.
When will the brain collecting stop?!
Keep playing until someone reaches 13 brains, then finish the round. Whoever has the most brains at the end of the round is the winner.
I highly recommend this quick fire and light hearted dice game, it’s perfect for beginners and kids and is a compact size for travelling. Happy brain collecting!
