I had a lot of joy recently building this set with my 3 year old. I say build, it was just helping him stay focused as they did all the building of the model. The detail in this lego is really quite extraordinary. Here’s what is great about the set.
The set is a very age appropriate set at 4 plus. There are lots of big mould pieces as well as some smaller parts of lego, this is ideal for younger children still developing those fine motor skills in putting pieces together. I could see my youngest being really challenged by this and he did need a bit of assistance putting some of the pieces together as the finger strength wasn’t quite there. He was persistent though and wanted to get the set finished.
The instructions are equally great. The steps are very straight forward to follow and clear to see how the components go together. The trickiest part is just ensuring the children turn the page to the correct page and don’t fall out of sequence but I was present to ensure that didn’t happen. If only all instructions were as clear as a set of lego instructions, it was spot on. I really cannot remember if this has always been the case with Lego from when I was a kid, but they were clear for a 3 year old to stick with which was great.

For fans of Bluey, the kids are going to love this set in letting their imaginations run and recreating the adventures of this lovable character. It’s amazing to watch what the children get up to with these sets, particularly when they introduce a baby Grogu from Star Wars into the playing arena, it’s quite hilarious to see what happens. It’s truly wonderful to see how they bring all of their other lego characters along to Bluey’s playground for a big play date. As a parent I love seeing the imagination run away like this and them having a great time.
I was also intrigued to see that once the set was built, that was enough more child in that moment. It took him over an hour and he was mentally exhausted. He wasn’t playing there, but he’s come back to it when he’s rested and ready to play. So if your kids are young just keep this thought in mind that building is mentally tiring for them.
Final Thoughts
This is a lovely lego set, challenging for the age group intended and great for starting to build on the process of following the instructions and building a model. It is further fantastic for play and letting the imaginations run on the Bluey adventures.
