After finally defying Jafar, the Illumineers are taking a well deserved pause from their adventures and Ravensburger is catching the opportunity to kick-off the Set Rotation in Disney Lorcana. Rotation is a common strategy in Trading Card Games to ensure the game will continue to be engaging and exciting in the long term by essentially making some sets obsolete every year. In Disney Lorcana case, once Fabled releases on the 29th of August, Players will not be able to use all cards featured in the first four sets in competitive events unless they are based on the new Infinity format.

In order to help the players to transition into the very first Rotation, Fables includes a lot of cards from the first four sets that have been re-printed in the set and therefore can be used going forward. Together with keeping the game exciting by prompting players to come up with new ideas, the Rotation can also be a great opportunity for new players to start Playing Lorcana as the number of cards needed to make decks will be much more limited. One of the best product new players should consider to buy is the Illumineer’s Trove and the one from Fabled is particularly exciting. I got mine directly from Ravensburger ahead of the planned release date and I was impressed by how this product keeps getting better. Let me share my thoughts and why the Fabled Illumineer’s Trove is likely the best one among all those released so far.

Anatomy of a trove – Contents

The Fabled Illumineer’s Trove is designed to provide Players with all the accessories needed in order to start playing, including a cost effective storage solution for their cards. The Trove itself is in fact a beautiful full-art storage box with two large dividers that can store the cards across two rows and it also comes with six cardboard dividers to separate them by Ink colour. In the Fabled Trove, these dividers have been upgraded to show the artwork of Enchanted cards and they also have a foil pattern on them. Ravensburger picked a notable character for each Ink colour from the Fabled set for each of these dividers and they all look so stunning that is a shame to cover them when you use them to separate your cards.

The Illumineer’s Trove also comes with 8 Booster packs, 6 Ink-themed damage-counter dices and a Lore counter. The 6 dice are also quite peculiar as they are clear with sparkling bits inside them like those you may have pulled with the Shimmering Skies Trove. However, this time there is one dice for each Ink colour. The Lore counter is definitely quite nice as it is also foil and it features the artwork from the Enchanted version of I2I. Last but not least, the eight booster packs are a great addition to your collection of cards as each of them comes with a total of 12 cards of which 6 are common cards, 3 are Uncommons, and 2 are Rare or above. The last card of each pack is a foil version of a card of any rarity including the new Iconic and Epic cards. Each pack also includes one of the 9-piece puzzle art of this set featuring Powerline.

What’s hidden in your Trove?

Components and Accessories apart, the best aspect of opening a Trove is to obviously to see which cards you will pull from it. Out of its 8 packs, a Trove will in fact provide a total of 96 cards including 48 Commons, 24 Uncommons, and 16 Rare, Super Rare or Legendary plus 8 foil cards of any rarity including a chance to get Epic, Enchanted or Iconic cards. Considering the packs in the Trove seems to be randomly assigned, sometime Players had more luck with the pulls from those eight packs with respect to the one you can have by opening a Booster Box although this is not a rule and the pulls are not guaranteed.

Disregarding the cards you may or may not pull, I personally love the Illumineer’s Trove. In terms of value is a great product in particular when you consider that the 8 booster packs account for almost 80% of its value and that most of the time you can find it below RPP on Zatu. The accessories that come with the packs are well worth the additional price and I usually use the Trove to store all my bulk cards making the best out of it at every set.

That concludes our thoughts on Disney Lorcana Fabled – Illumineer’s Trove. Do you agree? Let us know your thoughts and tag us on social media @zatugames. To buy Disney Lorcana Fabled – Illumineer’s Trove today click here!
