Fans of Heroes of Might and Magic III have one more reason to head back to the tabletop, as Heroes of Might and Magic 3: The Board Game is set to receive its final wave of expansions through a new crowdfunding campaign.
Developer Archon Studio has revealed a preview for the upcoming campaign on Gamefound, describing it as the “last chapter” for the project - and the final opportunity for players to help bring the full world of Enroth to the table.
A final trio of expansions
The campaign will centre around three new expansions: Factory, Bulwark, and Forge. While full details are still under wraps, these additions are expected to expand the game’s factions, maps, and strategic options, continuing the board game’s faithful adaptation of the original video game.
Archon Studio has positioned this release as a send-off for the line, aiming to round out the experience for long-time fans and collectors.
What the game already offers
The base game has built a reputation for being a detailed, systems-driven adaptation of the classic strategy RPG. Players control heroes exploring maps, gathering resources, building armies, and engaging in tactical battles.
There’s a strong emphasis on resource management and long-term planning, with gameplay that supports competitive, co-operative, and solo modes across a variety of scenarios. That flexibility has been a big part of its appeal, giving players different ways to experience the world depending on their group or play style.
Kickstarter-style extras and community input
Although the campaign is still in its preview phase, some extras have already been teased. Players who follow and back the project will receive a small bonus in the form of a cardboard trading post, designed to streamline resource exchanges during play while adding a bit more immersion to the table.
As with previous campaigns, Archon Studio is also inviting community feedback ahead of launch. Stretch goals and additional content may still evolve based on player suggestions, giving fans a chance to influence how this final chapter shapes up.
One last trip to Enroth
With this campaign marking the end of the line for Heroes of Might and Magic 3: The Board Game, it’s likely to draw attention from both existing players and those who’ve been waiting to jump in.
Between the promise of new factions, expanded gameplay options, and a final opportunity to pick up extras, this crowdfunder looks set to close out the series on a high note - bringing one of fantasy gaming’s most recognisable worlds fully into tabletop form.
