RIFTBOUND (1)

It’s hard to believe that League of Legends has been around for over 15 years, but when you look at how far the game has come in that time, it’s easy to see how it gained its success. Earlier this year, Riot Games announced their next project for the tabletop genre would come in the form of a trading card game; and after much anticipation, it will be known as Riftbound!

Riftbound TCG, named after Summoners Rift, the arena where the online MOBA is fought, promises an exciting new take on the League of Legends universe that showcases the environment and champions that fans have come to love.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Riot Games have taken on this genre of games. With their successful online trading game, Legends of Runeterra and their tabletop board game, Mechs vs Minions: they’re well versed in finding new ways to bring the League of Legends universe to more fans.

So, what do we know about Riftbound? Well, much like League of Legends, the gameplay revolves around Champions and their unique abilities. Each one has their own unique play style and a range of tailored mechanics that can give them the edge over other champions when used correctly.

Along with an exciting new name for the TCG, we’ve also been given an exciting look at the champions and pack structure that we can expect to see in Riftbound Origins, the first release that’s due later this year.

With Riftbound Origins, fans can look forward to a range of products including booster boxes, pre-constructed decks, and an all-in-one multiplayer starter set. All of which provide players with an opportunity to expand their collection and add powerful cards to their decks.

Booster Box:
Contains a large amount of sealed booster packs
Packs contain 14 cards that can be used to play Riftbound Pre-constructed decks:
Perfect entry point for new players to try out new champions
Each deck focuses on a unique mechanic
Champions include Jinx, Viktor, and Lee Sin Riftbound Proving Grounds:
Perfect for a group of friends to try out the game and experience a variety of champions
Contains four starter decks and all the components needed to start playing
Features Lux, Annie, Yi, and Garen as the starter deck champions

With so many ways to experience the game on release, it’s no surprise that Riftbound has quickly become one of the most anticipated Trading Card Games for 2025.
