Magic the Gathering (MtG) is a collectable card game for 2 or more players. Each game represents a battle between powerful wizards, known as Planeswalkers, who have the ability to travel the multiverse. Players will cast spells, summon creatures, and deploy artifacts to overcome their opponents. Typically, a player will win by reducing their opponent's starting life points to zero, but there are other paths to victory.To play the game, each player will need a deck of at least 60 cards. Players may use pre-constructed decks or customised decks created from their personal card collection.Core Set 2021 is the 20th core set released for MtG, released globally on 3 July 2020. 274 cards make up the set: 111 commons, 80 uncommons, 53 rares, 15 mythic rares, and 15 basic lands. This set includes a combination of reprinted and new cards.This set places a thematic emphasis on creature types: Cats, and Dogs, the later becoming a creature type for the first time in MtG. Mill is introduced as a keyword action. Prowess and Phasing make a return.Core Set 2021 can be played in isolation, or combined with cards from other expansions for more varied play. This product contains one 15-card booster pack. Booster packs are the staple MtG product for players and collections.
