Halloween might still be a little way off, but The Magic Puzzle Company is already getting into the spooky spirit! The first puzzle from Series 6 has quietly arrived at retailers, giving puzzlers a new 1,000-piece challenge packed with ghosts, witches, skeletons and plenty of pumpkins. Called The Spooky Shire, it appears to have launched slightly earlier than expected, with the puzzle already available from major retailers even though it has not yet appeared on The Magic Puzzle Company's own website.
Welcome to The Spooky Shire!
Created with artwork from Kasey White, The Spooky Shire features a colourful Halloween-inspired village filled with all sorts of strange and wonderful characters. As you'd expect from a Magic Puzzle, there is much more going on than simply putting together a pretty picture. The puzzle contains more than 50 Easter eggs for players to discover as they work through the 1,000 pieces. There are also two art posters included, giving you a handy reference while you build.
And if you've played a Magic Puzzle before, you'll know that finishing the picture isn't necessarily the end of the adventure!
There's a twist!
One of the biggest reasons Magic Puzzle Company has built such a following is its signature surprise ending. The puzzles are designed with unique pieces and hidden elements that lead to a magical finale once you've completed the main image. Exactly what happens is part of the fun so we won't spoil it here! The company also puts a lot of emphasis on original artwork, with detailed scenes that give puzzlers plenty to discover along the way. That makes The Spooky Shire more than just a traditional jigsaw, as there's something to look for even when you've already filled half the table.
More magic is coming!
The Spooky Shire is the first of three planned puzzles in Series 6, although there is no confirmed release date for the other two yet. If the company follows the same pattern as Series 5, puzzlers could have a bit of a wait. The first Series 5 puzzle arrived in August 2025, while the remaining puzzles did not reach stores until January 2026. That could mean the next Series 6 releases won't appear until early 2027. For now, though, The Spooky Shire is more than enough to keep puzzle fans busy. With 1,000 pieces, dozens of hidden Easter eggs, and a spooky scene to explore, it looks like a perfect excuse to put the kettle on and settle in for a few hours of puzzling! Just don't blame us when you start hunting for pumpkins instead of actually finishing the puzzle!
