Muster! It’s one of those words that gets to you. Someone shouts it properly, it’ll do something to you, make you sit up ready for action. Consider me mustered! In Muster, players draw cards and build up points to control castles. Rainbow cards allow players to hamper the other player, adding a take that component to the duel. The game immediately ends when the final card has been drawn from the deck. Players then establish who controls each castle by determining who has the most strength icons on the cards on their side of the board under each castle space. The player who controls the most castles wins the game!
I’ve had the pleasure of a hands-on preview of Muster. We found it to be the perfect distillation of what makes 2 player games great. Most plays should look pretty close until right at the end, and if you’ve lost? Well, you haven’t wasted too much time: losing a long game can be off-putting, but here you’re ready for another try. It’s a single deck of cards to shuffle and deal out five to each player, there’s almost no barriers between you and another play. Go to the crowdfunding page now.
