Wraith Encounter, designed to fit into the Local Legends Tavern Kit and DND 5th Edition compatible. This unit contains a full encounter booklet, one medium and four small unpainted miniature and illustrated battle map. The unit is designed to be a flexible encounter and can be played as a standalone adventure, necessary element along the way, or a side quest in a campaign. The Games Master (GM) will need to have to assess the players levels and pitch the difficulty but reading the full encounter booklet rather than scanned over will give the depth of the scenario and characters to make it a truly Epic Encounter.

Epic Encounters Local Legends – Wraith Encounter at play:
Wraith Encounter. The game is designed as a drop in encounter for any games master role playing game, primarily for the Local legends Tavern Kit but also for a DND 5th Edition adventure, modification would be needed to any other role-playing system. The players play co-operatively unless you are a sneaky spy, to complete the scenario objective. The scenario is outlined to stop the Wraith from bring the sickness and the disappearance of the town folk. But a band of plucky adventurers could save the day, or they might of course become the wraith’s next minions. The GM manages the encounter, so if it is too challenging the scenario can be adjusted e.g. the Wraith has to be stopped but knowing your stuff might tilt the balance and maybe some extra help to prop up your teams’ weak points may be advisable particularly some clerical help (no not to help with the paperwork but to keep the undead at bay).
Booklets, Maps & Miniatures:
Wraith Encounter booklet contains, a detailed scenario and background of the Wraith and abilities and behaviour in battle or play, as well as the Wraith’s perspective on what it needs and what outcomes could be. The booklet provides guidance on difficulty, stats, and background from the Silver Purse. The battle map is beautifully illustrated and on decent quality paper but is only one sided and you will need to flatten it out and then rely on the Tavern Kit to provide a leading foreground map for the adventure. The Wraith and four Votary Spirits’ miniatures are included and are all unpainted and unprimed but are very nicely detailed. The pieces are standard medium & four small miniatures in size but is more generous & detailed compared to the Night Hag encounter and Owlbear encounter.
‘Not more ghosts, we barely escaped with our lives with the sensitive pirate ghost, well at least our dragon Snotglob can help.’ Said the young Paladin.
‘Not likely lad, wraiths are often immune to physical effects and attacks, we will need magic preferably the holy kind’ said the white Wizard looking deep in thought.
‘I can do clerical magic; I am a Paladin after all.’ Said the young Paladin enthusiastically.
‘I don’t believe you can turn undead or cast negative plane protection yet, best you stick to the documents management clerical magic you do’ smirked the white Wizard.
‘So, I guess we are off to find a cleric then?’ Said the young Paladin.
‘Yes, that’s right, well done my young Paladin, and maybe more than one, better over prepared with the reported activity suggesting not just a wraith on its own,’ said the white Wizard his face returning to deep thought.
Epic encounters have been written to be challenging and it is the duty of the GM to balance the adventure with the player ability and bringing in extra help to tip the balance is allowed as you are in charge right, but balancing is always the best way and letting in extra help or allow aid to come if needed for either your team or the Wraith.
