Lego are taking the space exploration theme far into the future with the Interstellar Spaceship. They have moved on from the NASA space shuttle and developed a sleek, futuristic aesthetic reminiscent of classic space-faring video games and movies.
My children each have their own Interstellar spaceship and following on from watching the Lego Movie they are thrilled to each own their own “SPACESHIP!”. It is fair to say they love it. Charging about, flying their spaceships and shouting “SPACESHIP!” is really quite amusing.

The ship for their young age was a really challenging build that when completed provided them an immense amount of satisfaction and pride over their accomplishment. This is one of their first builds and so just following the instructions alone and getting used to the format that Lego chose to use was hard for them. The instructions are great and very clear to understand nothing wrong with them, my kids were just getting used to the process.
Then when built it was blast off on their epic space adventures racing their ships around the galaxy on an epic series of missions and explorations. They were and are having a great time.
My personal take on this set is from the moment you look at the box, it’s clear that this isn't your average "City" vehicle. The design is heavily inspired by "hard" sci-fi, featuring a sharp, triangular silhouette that wouldn't look out of place in a Star Wars set.. The colour palette is a refreshing mix of crisp white, stark black, and "Space Orange" accents, all tied together by a stunning trans-dark blue cockpit canopy. It looks fast even when it’s just sitting on a desk, and the build process is surprisingly sophisticated for a set at this price point. So you can see why the children love it.
I’m thrilled with the quality of this product and seeing how much enjoyment my children have had from it. I cannot wait to hear about all the future adventures to come and how it combines with all their existing lego set and the further explorations they had here. You cannot go wrong adding this set to your collection.
