A Decade of Dark Fantasy
Originally released in Swedish in 2014 before reaching an international audience, Symbaroum has built a strong following thanks to its atmospheric setting and focus on exploration within a dangerous, untamed wilderness.
Now, ten years on, the game is receiving a carefully revised update designed to make it more accessible while preserving its distinctive tone and depth.
Revised Core Books and New Structure
The anniversary release will reorganise the game’s existing material into a streamlined format. Content from the current core line - including the Core Rulebook, Advanced Player’s Guide, Game Master’s Guide, and Monster Codex - will be reworked into three updated volumes.
These revisions aim to smooth out complexity and improve usability, offering both new players and veterans a more refined experience at the table.
A New Setting Emerges
Alongside the updated rules, the campaign will introduce an entirely new setting: the City States of Vendilyn. This addition promises fresh opportunities for storytelling, expanding the world of Symbaroum beyond its established frontiers.
A Premium Anniversary Release
The Kickstarter will feature a collection of hardcover books, illustrated by artists Martin Grip and Gustaf Ekelund, with further details on stretch goals and additional content expected closer to launch.
