| Take command at the Battle of Brandywine, 11 September 1777. In Brandywine 1777: A Time for Heroes one player leads General Howe's British army, aiming to seize Philadelphia and crush the rebel force, while the other plays General Washington, using the Brandywine River as a defence to destroy Howe's army or cripple its operations. Play centres on activating formations: movement and combat spend limited cohesion and generate momentum cubes, which you spend on tactical cards. Major and minor activations set the pace of each turn, column cards add fog of war and hidden deployment, and leaders such as Howe, Washington and Cornwallis influence activations and cohesion. Combat is dice-based, and victory comes from breaking enemy formations or holding key locations. A corps and division-level wargame for one or two players, taking around two hours, and the first in the A Time for Heroes series; a good pick for American Revolution fans and anyone after a streamlined, card-driven battle. | Regular price
