I loved seeing this flash up today from Asmodee on instagram. How can any board gamer not get excited about new Splendor games? For me, as a parent, Splendor Kids is fantastic news. We love Splendor in our household but it is a little bit beyond the children. Seeing the amazing game get adapted for children is just the best news for board gaming parents everywhere.
Splendor Kids is suggested for ages 6 and up and for 2 to 4 players. From the image shared there doesn’t appear to be a card in sight. We have a board, meeples, tokens and other counters.
The post was simple. It highlighted that players have to take resources and spend them to progress on the board and be the first traveller to reach the palace. It’s not too much to go on but playing with meeples on a board looks brilliant. It has a classic board game look about it and, as you would expect with Splendor, is full of vibrancy and colour.
Release date is noted as October the 25th this year. It’s an ideal one to pick up for the children this Christmas (I cannot even believe I’m already thinking this). I cannot wait to see more news and learn about how Splendor Kids works in the run up to the release date.
