The digital adaptation of the acclaimed tactical board game Frosthaven has received a fresh gameplay trailer, giving players another look at the icy adventure ahead of its full launch on October 15, 2026! Developed by Snapshot Games and published by Arc Games, Frosthaven is currently available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The upcoming 1.0 release will bring the complete campaign, all 17 heroes, and a whole host of new features to the digital experience.
Into the frozen North!
Based on the board game created by Isaac Childres, Frosthaven takes players to a harsh and unforgiving northern frontier. This time, the adventure stretches across the Biting Sea, where an ancient and powerful artefact has begun sending visions of unrest. Players must venture above and below the dark, icy waters to uncover the truth and secure the artefact before it falls into the wrong hands. The game combines turn-based tactical combat, RPG progression, and meaningful choices. You can tackle the campaign alone or team up with friends in online co-op, building a party of heroes and working together to survive the dangers ahead. And yes, the cold is the least of your problems!
A full campaign awaits
The 1.0 release will include the complete Frosthaven story campaign from the tabletop game, including its climactic final chapter. That means players will be able to experience the full journey, from the opening adventure to the final showdown, without waiting for future story updates. There will also be 17 playable heroes to choose from, with the final hero joining the game at launch. Each character brings their own abilities and playstyle, so building a balanced party will be essential. Whether you prefer dealing damage, supporting your team, or finding clever ways to control the battlefield, there should be plenty of room to experiment.
Easier to learn, still tough to master
Frosthaven is known for its deep mechanics, and the digital version is looking to make the experience more approachable for newcomers. The 1.0 update introduces a new digital-only introduction called Road to Frosthaven, which includes a tutorial and improved UI displays to help players get to grips with the game's systems. There will also be a standalone demo, allowing new adventurers to try the experience before purchasing the full game. For returning players, improved co-op systems and networking enhancements should make playing with friends smoother. Customisable House Rules will also allow players to adjust certain aspects of the game to suit their preferred playstyle.

The 1.0 release is bringing more than just the rest of the campaign. Players can look forward to a brand-new opening cinematic, dedicated hero unlock videos, and a fully implemented in-game Codex. The Codex will cover the world’s lore, characters, creatures, biomes, and more. So, if you enjoy getting lost in the details of a fantasy world, there’ll be plenty to explore.
