Can you remember when Clash of Clans was being advertised everywhere? TV ads, every time I opened the google play store it was the headline game to download, the game took the industry by storm!
Now Maestro Media have announced they are bringing the iconic mobile game, Clash of Clans, to the table top. The game “The Epic Raid” sees Maestro Media, in partnership with the mobile game company, Supercell, about to launch the video game classic onto Kickstarter very soon. Fans of the phone game will be able to enjoy playing in this all new format.
The phone game has millions of players worldwide and now players are able to recreate the game on the board. Players can build their defences, deploy units and raid friends bases. Very much in the style of the phone game.
I was shocked to read on the Kickstarter page that “A Clash of Clans” has over 120 billion hours of logged game time. That’s an insane number on just one game. Will this board game generate such time around the table?
The creators are Eric M. Lang, (responsible for the creation of Marvel United and Star Wars: The card game) and Ken Gruel (responsible for Mantis and Life in Reterra) have brought this one to the tabletop and note the game will surprise and delight players as well as becoming a “must have table-top adventure”. I’ve played quite a bit of Marvel United and it is an awesome game, simple gaming mechanics and great strategy. If this is brought to clash of clans it will be one to try and add to the collection.
Good luck to the team with the pending Kickstarter, although, with over 8,000 followers already (That’s incredible!) for the launch, I feel it will do well.
