It’s hard to believe that the One Piece Card Game has officially been out for two amazing years! With over ten sets now playing a part in the game, Bandai have announced the official release date for the anniversary set; EB02, and have revealed all of the exciting cards that players can expect to find inside the set.
Alongside the straw hats, players can also expect to meet characters from islands such as Whole Cake, Germa 66, and Skypiea. Meaning that leaders such as Pudding, Enel and Luffy are getting much needed boosts to keep them on the cutting edge.
For those unfamiliar with the EB sets; they play the role of adding powerful cards to a wide range of already existing leaders and keywords, rather than introducing new types and mechanics. This means that underpowered decks have a chance at becoming part of the top performing meta.
Of course, a set wouldn’t be complete without a few stunning treasure cards to find in special packs, and EB02 is no different. Players have the chance at opening the elusive manga rare Luffy or one of 26 breath-taking gold foiled leaders from previous sets. Add in customary alternate art versions of the new cards and you’ll find yourself with more hits than you know what to do with.
But that’s not all! To celebrate the upcoming release of the new One Piece anime on Netflix, certain cards in this set have been illustrated by the artists working on the show. Which means there’s even more reason to collect the set and show homage to your favourite characters.
