Lego is becoming in increasingly higher demand in our home. The entire family is enjoying it. My wife, after watching Guardians of the Galaxy, volume 1 over 10 years ago now, has a fondness of Groot. Devastated to have seen this hero taken down at the end of the movie, in such dramatic circumstances. The elation and relief she felt to see him replant and regrow, into this baby Groot character. Ravager Jumpsuit Groot really was an easy gift for me to pick up for her.
The Build
This set is quite a large set which has a huge amount of appeal. As noted it was picked up for my wife and whilst not challenging as such, it is Lego, she enjoyed the process of the build. Or at least enjoyed it as much as possible when the 4 year old didn’t want to be involved in the process. However she also noted she did enjoy building the model together with our youngest as it was a fun joint activity to do together.
There are over 600 pieces to this set and I do see that as decent value for what you get here. That’s a lot of pieces and a bit of value against the item for the time taken to build it.
My wife did also note “it was a bit weird building a bomb”. This made me laugh.
The Finish
For me, Lego is a quality and fun product and I am always in awe of what the Lego designers create with each and every build out of the same bricks and pieces. This set is no exception. You as the reader of this blog have to agree this set is a spitting image of the beloved Marvel character, it is absolutely spot on for likeness. You do have to wonder what it must be like in the Lego designers office for coming up with the models to cast and the way they are to be constructed, with Lego. They have smashed it on this occasion.
My wife’s thoughts at the end of the build is that it is a very “cute” model. I did note she loves Groot.
Not a Toy
I purposely picked this one up as a model and ornament like feature for our home and not as a toy that the children may get their hands on. Ultimately it is Lego and of course that does make it a Toy but my perception of this set is that it is more an item for viewing over playing with and it fits the bill quite nicely in our home.
It’s a perfect piece for sitting on any shelf within the home and you can subtly change the little poses you find the character in which is quite good fun. But it isn’t a toy!
Final Thoughts
Ravager Jumpsuit Groot is another high quality Lego model, a very satisfying build for the consumer and looks brilliant on display and within a model collection when complete.
