I thought I was prepared for the summer Warhammer reveals, turns out it was so much more than I had imagined. Let’s dig in!
Votann second wave
The star of the show here, at least in my opinion, are the new Votann models. The Leagues of Votann have been half an army since their release in 9th, and we’re finally going to get 5 more models to fill up their ranks and give us some fun options to play with. Not to mention a 10th edition Codex (with a cool cover) and a new combat patrol with some useful units from the original release.
Helsmiths of Hashut, the return of the Chaos Dwarves
The second biggest reveal here (again, personal bias) is the Chaos Dwarves returning from Warhammer Fantasy into the Age of Sigmar universe. With a wide variety of models coming on release, including a truly epic dwarf riding a steampunk flying bull and is huge. If that’s not a centerpiece model I don’t know what is.
Kill Team Tomb World
Brand new Kill Team box which is Necrons vs Deathwatch. Yes, I said Deathwatch. The faction which is entirely made up of Kill Teams and has yet to have a proper team for Kill Team, finally has one. And it’s pretty damn good too. You get 10 Deathwatch in the box, but your team is made up of 5, so you have options to choose from. The Necrons also come with extra warriors. This is for the Joint Ops co-op mode where you can fight against constant waves of Necrons emerging from the Tomb.
Space Marine helmet
Joytoy’s latest contribution to the world of Warhammer is a full size, wearable, Space Marine helmet. It’s perfect for any costume or cosplay event.
Space Marine heroes and combat patrols
Several Space Marine chapters are getting some love, with some new versions of old sculpts (now properly in plastic) plus some new heroes. Vulkan He’Stan of the Salamanders and Darnath Lysander of the Imperial Fists are getting the glow up treatment, whereas Suboden Khan (White Scars), Aethon Shaan (Raven Guard) and Caanok Var (Iron Hands) models are entirely new (that I know of, I apologise if not).
Plus new combat patrols for all those factions.
The Scouring
Now that the Horus Heresy book series finished (after around 63 books depending on your counting), it’s time to find out what happened after the Emperor fell. The new series The Scouring, will cover just that. Let’s see the start of how the next 10,000 years before 40k played out.
MkII Assault Squad
It’s all in the title. The MkII Assault Squad is being released for the Horus Heresy game.
Legions Imperialis
Several new models are being released for Legions Imperialis, and a book update.
Warhammer Underworld Spitewood
There is a new expansion to the Warhammer Underworld game, Spitewood. It pits the new faction, Helsmiths of Hashut against the Sylvaneth. Will the Chaos Dwarves destroy the forest for its resources or will the Sylvaneth manage to protect it?
Age of Sigmar
There are also some new models being released for the Flesh-Eater Courts and Nighthaunt factions.
Old World
And last but not least, we’re getting some more Tomb Kings models for Old World.
