Shorter one today, but no less important. A new novel has been announced to be released alongside the new edition. This is what really makes 40k stand out from all other games, its world. The lore is deep, intricate and expansive, and new additions are always welcome. There is nothing more guaranteed to get you into the feeling of a new warzone and new edition, than a novel to go with it.
It is called ‘Armageddon: Season of Fire’ and is written by Jude Reid. It’s set on Armadeddon and centered around Hive Tartarus with three key viewpoints. Major Ambrosius Roth of the Steel Legion, Sister Superior Sabreen of the Order of Our Martyred Lady, and Brother Gavriel of the Blood Angels. Each character has a different perspective on the war, from grizzled veteran at the end of his career, to a fresh warrior eager to take the fight to the enemy. And of course, the other key character, the Orks! The author mentions how she really tried to write the Orks as the true monsters that they are, brutal, but also smart.
