The Pokémon Company has just revealed its next big TCG release, and it’s a two-for-one special: Phantasmal Flames, the latest expansion in the Mega Evolution block, and the Mega Charizard X ex Ultra Premium Collection. Both landing on November 14, 2025!
Charizard’s Blue Flames Take Centre Stage
Coming just one month after the first Mega Evolution block set (dropping October 10), Phantasmal Flames continues the fiery theme with Mega Charizard X front and centre. The Japanese counterpart, Inferno X, is out September 26, so the hype train is already rolling.
The set’s star card, Mega Charizard X ex, has already been teased. It boasts a chunky 360 HP and the devastating Inferno X attack, which dishes out 90 damage for every Fire Energy you discard. Though in true Mega fashion, it comes with the risk of coughing up three Prize Cards when knocked out. High risk, high reward, and very on-brand for Charizard.
Phantasmal Flames also features Mega Gengar ex, Mega Diancie ex, Mega Lopunny ex, Mega Heracross ex, and Mega Sharpedo ex, alongside four new Pokémon ex and a stack of Illustration Rares. In total, the set is shaping up to be under 100 cards before secret rares are added, making it one of the leaner expansions we’ve seen in years.
The Ultra Premium Charizard Box
As if a new expansion wasn’t hype enough, The Pokémon Company is also dropping the Mega Charizard X ex Ultra Premium Collection on November 14. This beast of a box is stuffed with collector’s goodies and competitive play gear – basically, the ultimate Charizard fan kit.

- 18 booster packs
