In 2021, a new edition of Great Western Trail was announced by the publisher, Plan B, onwers of eggertspiele, also teased the two follow up games, using the same mechanisms but shifting the setting from the American West to Argentina and New Zealand. GWT: Argentina was released last year and this year, it’s the turn of GWT: New Zealand. More details are due out next month, but for now, here’s the basic details teased so far.
No longer are we cow herders, but instead we are runholders – owners of sheep stations – on the South island of New Zealand at the end of the 19th century. As we face a new century, new challenges present themselves, so players will need to acquire new breeds of sheep to bolster their flocks and ensure the prosperity of the family business and the laborers you employ.
