A new creator is bringing their project to Kickstarter very soon. I’m always pleased and in awe of anyone bringing a project to life and this one looks amazing. See the game overview below.
“Rift Domination is a competitive 4X space strategy board game for 2–6 players that blends tactical fleet combat, asymmetric factions, political tension, and multiple dynamic victory paths.
Each player leads a unique faction with distinct strengths, strategic options, and fleet compositions. Over the course of the game, players expand across star systems, develop powerful planet upgrades, build customized fleets, and pursue objectives that shape their long-term strategy.
Diplomacy plays a central role. Players can form alliance pacts to support one another in key battles or strategic moments — but these agreements are never permanent. Trust is valuable, but timing is everything. Choosing when to cooperate and when to stand alone can ultimately decide the outcome of the war.
Combat is fast, decisive, and ability-driven. Units feature unique skills that influence battles beyond simple dice rolls. Allies can reinforce fleets, resources are constantly at stake, and calculated risks can dramatically shift the balance of power.
Throughout the game, players also gain OCC cards (Occurrence Cards) — tactical action cards that introduce unexpected twists, disrupt opponents, strengthen alliances, or unlock powerful strategic plays at crucial moments.
Planets are more than resource nodes — each has its own condition:
• Dangerous – High risk, high reward expansion
• Civilized – Immediate military reinforcement
• Harvester – Strong economic growth
• Anomaly – Direct strategic advantages
Victory is not linear. Players pursue a mix of military achievements, territorial control, economic engines, and strategic objectives. Multiple paths can lead to domination, and every session unfolds differently depending on alliances, conflicts, and player decisions.
Rift Domination is designed for players who love deep strategy, meaningful interaction, and epic space conflict — without excessive downtime”.
We wish the team every success on their project and hope they smash it out the park with success. Good luck with your upcoming crowdfunder.
