There is an obsession with treasure. Whether hiding in caverns. Buried deep under the sea. Or amid the sand dunes of old deserts. Adventurers attempted and failed to make their lives a rags-to-riches story. Enter Kuldhara, set in India’s rich northern region.
Home to the beautiful Himalayan mountains. It is also home to Kuldhara. It was once a powerful city, but now it stands as a relic of a past period. Now a ghost town, the treasures and legends have been left in the sand, waiting to be discovered.
You are the newest ‘wannabe’ in search of those rare stones. You and your camel must traverse the day, as the spirits of Kuldhara descend at night!
How to Play:
Played over four rounds. The turns in this are quick and simple to navigate. Through collecting water to survive in the desert sun. Of course, you must find those stones and produce stunning jewellery for the wealthy and famous. You must be able to obtain the appropriate gems to produce the desired gemstone. As in the popular gemstone game Splendor, you can trade in your available stones for some wonderful points.
As the sun advances from east to west, your caravan should make the most of sheltered locations. Working in the scorching sun depletes a valuable resource: water, which you do not want to waste! There is also the option of cutting a stone into many pieces, which allows it to be reused a second or even third time.
Who is it For?
This game may great for individuals who enjoy short and easy turns with little overhead. With re-wood and sustainable items planned, this game has an eco-conscious edge. Furthermore, the production quality of 3D camels with spaces on their backs for stones is commendable.
It appears that Kuldhara was a popular title in Essen this year. I, for one, am excited to make my own way through India’s desserts.
