Microids has officially announced that board game King of Tokyo will be getting a video game adaptation in 2026!
King of Tokyo, created by renowned board game designer Richard Garfield (the genius behind Magic: The Gathering) is making it’s video game debut in Spring 2026. The game will be published by Microids on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam. A physical edition will also be available for PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
In the game, players take turns playing as giant monsters like Gigazaur, Cyber Kitty, Alienoid, and more, battling to become the King of Tokyo through strategic die rolls, attacks, and card-powered abilities.
Solo play and multi-player (up to 6 players) is supported, preserving the fun and chaos of the original board game.
