Kelp – Shark vs. Octopus, from Wonderbow games, has been nothing short of an oceanic success. This asymmetric game for 2 players pitches a shark against an octopus in a thrilling, underwater battle for survival. What started as a humble Kickstarter has made waves throughout the gaming community, receiving a Golden Geek nomination in 2024 for Best Two Player Game.
Whilst their campaign has now officially ended, Wonderbow have signed off with a big mic drop – Kelp is getting an expansion! Kelp – Offshore Offspring has officially been announced, with Wonderbow teasing what we can expect from this upcoming campaign:
“There is new life in the kelp forest, and the fight for survival deepens. Offspring changes everything: juveniles arrive, grow and demand new tactics from both sides…”
So far, we know that the Kelp – Offshore Offspring expansion will come with new components and strategies for both the shark and octopus and the pre-launch page is already live on Kickstarter! The team at Wonderbow are currently hard at work developing artwork, fine tuning components and testing out this new expansion, but we are hopeful that the campaign’s launch is just on the horizon. Previous backers of the original Kelp – Shark vs. Octopus also have the added opportunity to dip their toes in the water early and become playtesters for this new module via Wonderbow’s Discord.
