Gritty medieval RPG heads to tabletop this autumn

Title text 'Kingdom Come Deliverance: The Board Game' against a backdrop of a blue sky with fluffy clouds and castle towers below.

Fans of immersive RPGs have something to look forward to! A new tabletop adventure is on the way that seems to capture the detailed survival mechanics and meaningful choices that made its video game inspiration so popular.

A Detailed RPG Experience

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, players start as ordinary peasants and spend five in-game days completing jobs, taking on quests, and building their reputation. Along the way, you'll need to hunt for food, manage your resources, and even pay attention to the condition of your clothing. Walking through muddy areas can leave you looking worse for wear, and turning up to town covered in dirt could see you turned away.

Plenty of Replayability

The game features multiple storylines that change from one playthrough to the next, so each session should feel a little different.

Encounter cards also introduce unexpected events, forcing players to adapt their plans as they try to earn the most points before the end of the fifth day.

Experienced Designers

There's plenty of excitement around the team behind the project too.

The game has been designed by Vlaada Chvátil, creator of Codenames, alongside Tomáš Holek, whose SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence received widespread praise after its release.

Players in medieval clothing engage in a strategic board game, pointing at detailed fantasy maps and cards, creating an intense, focused atmosphere.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Comes to Board Games

Rather than playing as Henry from the video game, you'll create your own story as a peasant trying to improve your fortunes. Whether you focus on quests, jobs, or building relationships with NPCs is up to you, with the winner being the player who earns the most points after five in-game days.

Release Date and Price

Kingdom Come: Deliverance The Board Game is due to launch in Autumn 2026.

Pre-orders are already available through publisher Czech Games Edition, with wider retail availability expected later, although no timeline has been confirmed.

If you're looking for a board game that captures the depth of a classic RPG, this is definitely one to keep an eye on!
