We always say that if we left the world to the animals, then it would be a much better place. Oh yeah? Have you met my cat Tonto? Clueless, and that’s being kind. He thinks that the weather will be different out of the back door than the front door, that the magic box in the kitchen produces cooked, chilled chicken whenever he wants it, and he should have a fight with anything that moves. You think a guy like that can run a household, let alone an entire community?
I promise you, those animals would make a right bleeding hash of it. Go on, prove me wrong, I dare you. And here’s your chance to do just that.
Forest Fellowship, First Settlement, is a game for two or more players, takes about 15 minutes to play (quick setup, quick and breezy game). In it, a friendly community of animals form their first colony in the forest, and the game runs across the initial stage of this process, where each player has to work to get everything needed to start building a home. (See, it’s not that ruddy easy, is it, animals? Eh? You’ve spent your lives in luxury, no jobs, no bills, now let’s see how you cope! (I’m not bitter, honest.))
This is a friendly game with a good dose of strategy perfect for those who love to play quick games of 10 to 15 minutes. I love the watercolour cozy style of the artwork, and the ferrets in particular (I seem to have a bit of a thing for ferrets lately – it’s fine, I’m just going to lean into it).
Here’s the extra interesting bit: the more packs you buy, the more players you can have. If there’s just the two of you, get on pack. Got a family of four gamers? Two packs please. Having a Forest Fellowship party? Three packs will take you up to six players. There’s even an optional print and play version to add onto your pledge.
Interested? Of course you are, if only to prove me wrong about the whole animals doing life better than us thing. The crowdfunding page awaits you here.
