Van Ryder Games aren’t done scaring us yet – because Final Girl: A Rotten Harvest is set to hit retail in Q3 2025!
Season 4 takes us to the quiet town of Shady Acres… which, spoiler alert, isn’t so quiet for long. Something sinister is stirring under the cornfields and Grimlash – a pumpkin-headed deity – is starting to possess the local kids.
This expansion packs a punch with two new Final Girls to play as and a terrifying boss showdown against Grimlash himself. Like previous seasons, you’ll need the Final Girl core box to dive in. The content is split into two boxes: Shady Acres and Grimlash – collect both to experience the full Rotten Harvest nightmare.
And if you somehow survived Buddyland’s horrors, you’ll be pleased (or terrified) to know Van Ryder Games recently unleashed Bad Times at Buddyland, another expansion that’s just as creepy.
New Items
A Rotten Harvest isn’t just about terror – it also brings a whole host of new mechanics and tools to the game:
- Harvester Keys: Summon the Harvester (a vehicle), move further and convert field spaces to regular ones.

Scythe: Close-range weapon (0–1 range) that also clears field spaces.

Children’s Toys: Two charges to turn a child into a benign victim.

Wicker Doll: Remove an active curse – just use it at the right time.
Setting the Stage:
The new “Rotten Fields” board is more than a backdrop; cornfields, field-specific events and altar mechanics work to create a high scare game!
Series context
If you’re just joining the slasher party, here’s the scoop: Final Girl launched in 2021 and rounds out as a highly immersive, solo horror-movie-style board game. You’ll hunt for items, rescue victims, and either take down the killer – or become the latest victim yourself. Since its launch, three series of “Feature Film” expansions have dropped, each bringing fresh killers, locations and Final Girls to mix and match. Bad Times at Buddyland just hit earlier this year, and now it’s Grimlash’s turn.
Looks like it’s going to be a very long night for Final Girl fans…
