Electronic music board game Track Quest launches on Kickstarter

A tabletop display of a music-themed party game called “Track Quest,” featuring cards, a dice, labeled buttons, and a smartphone interface, set against a backdrop of audio equipment.

Aulart is bringing electronic music culture from the studio to the tabletop with a new Kickstarter campaign for Track Quest, a party board game that transforms decades of dance music history into a fast-paced guessing and ordering challenge. Launching later this month, it marks the brand’s move from online music education into physical tabletop gaming.

A New Way to Explore Electronic Music History

Track Quest takes players on a journey through roughly six decades of electronic music, from early disco-influenced roots through to house, techno, drum and bass, trance, and modern club sounds. Instead of traditional trivia, players must place tracks in chronological order using audio clips and clue-based hints, turning music history into an interactive competition.

The focus is on instinct, memory, and recognising how electronic music has evolved over time, with players racing to build the most accurate timeline under pressure.

Party Games Meet the Dancefloor

Music-driven tabletop games have been growing in popularity, and Track Quest enters a space already shaped by energetic party titles. Games such as Hitster have shown how effective audio-based gameplay can be, challenging players to identify and place songs in order using streamed clips.

A boxed music party game called “Hitster” with a speaker graphic on the cover, placed on a table alongside colourful cards, tokens, and stacks of game cards, with a blurred, neon-lit background.

Alongside this, Grab the Mic brings a more performance-led approach, asking players to respond to prompts with lyrics or improvisation under pressure, while Encore focuses on quick thinking around music-related challenges. Together, these games highlight a clear trend towards music as a core mechanic in modern party board gaming.

Chaos on the Dancefloor Meets the Tabletop

While Track Quest has an educational angle, it is designed to feel lively and competitive rather than instructional. Players not only work to identify tracks correctly but also compete to outpace one another in building an accurate musical timeline.

The result is a game that feels closer to a high-energy music debate than a traditional quiz, where confidence, speed, and cultural memory all play a role in success.

From Masterclasses to Game Night

Aulart is best known for its online masterclasses featuring leading electronic artists and producers. With Track Quest, it shifts that educational approach into a shared tabletop experience, encouraging players to explore electronic music history collaboratively rather than individually.

The game reflects the communal nature of electronic music itself, where genres evolve through shared listening, club culture, and collective discovery.

Kickstarter Campaign Incoming

The Kickstarter campaign for Track Quest is expected to launch later this month, with backers able to support development and unlock additional content through stretch goals. More details, including final components and release timing, will be revealed as the campaign progresses.

For fans of music-themed party games such as Hitster, Grab the Mic, and Encore, Track Quest offers a more focused dive into electronic music history, blending competition with decades of club culture in a fast-moving tabletop format.
