Chichester Lands a Spot on the Monopoly Board

Monopoly board with dice, money, and dog piece

There can never be too much Monopoly for classic board game fans, and now the historic city of Chichester has officially joined the game.

Earlier this month saw the launch of Monopoly: Chichester Edition, putting the city and its famous landmarks directly onto the iconic board. The special edition was unveiled during a VIP event on 6 March 2026 at the Zee Bar at the University of Chichester.

Guests at the launch included Chichester’s mayor, Sean McHale, as well as representatives from local businesses and charities. Even the game’s famous mascot, Mr Monopoly, made an appearance to celebrate the city’s moment on the board.

Produced by Winning Moves under licence from Hasbro, the special edition swaps the traditional London streets for well-known Chichester locations. Players will now be able to buy, trade and build on local landmarks such as Chichester Festival Theatre, Chichester Cathedral and Fishbourne Roman Palace.

The University of Chichester itself even features as one of the prestigious green properties on the board - the equivalent of Regent Street in the classic version of the game.

Speaking at the event, the mayor said the board celebrates the unique character of Chichester and the many organisations that make up its community, while also highlighting the city’s history and heritage.

Now available in shops and online, Monopoly: Chichester Edition gives residents and visitors the chance to explore the city in a whole new way - no Chance cards required.
